Best of 2011

In the end, 2011 was a good year for photography.. I finally joined PPA this time last year and the growth that has come along with that decision shows it was a good choice. Along with that, I decided to stretch my wings (no pun intended) a little and use the competition process to improve the way I approach my photography.

All of that leads to my favorite shot from 2011.. and my highest scoring print in competition… Morning Glide

And its not over, yet.. its off to competition at Nationals next summer… along with a few others.. will keep you informed.

And to recap the other 5 from this week:

Happy New Year, everyone… and here’s to a Happy and Creative New Year

Best of 2011: Abby and Thumper

Abby was one of the seniors I photographed over the summer and this image has rapidly reached the top of the list when I do any kind of sports photography advertising. From start to finish, I just love how this one turned out.. its tough, but still feminine.. and really shows off what a good sports portrait can be.

In a Red Dress

Did you know that I started out in professional photography doing commercial and fashion? I love being able to apply that experience to portraits – bringing out the inner model in everyone. When I manage to capture the person inside – to show the world that person – in a single photograph, that’s when photography is at its best.

Its All About the Hat

KnittingFairy is about to release a new pattern, so it was an opportunity to go back to my commercial photography roots…

Dubiski Career High School

I know I spend a lot of time on this blog showing portraits, but I like to remind everyone now and again that I originally got my start doing Photojournalism and Commercial work. This was shot recently for the City of Grand Prairie, featuring the new Dubiski Career High School at sunset.

If you’re interested in having art images of your business or any other commercial photography, please do not hesitate to contact me for rate information. You’d be surprised how little custom commercial photography can cost while adding so very much to your bottom line.

SGP Chey-annes

The South Grand Prairie High School Chey-annes had their group and individual pictures done last week. What an amazing group of talented, beautiful young women they are.

Lexie | Senior Photography

Lexie is another of my seniors for 2012. Here we’ve applied a little HD treatment to her…

Daniel, Eagle Scout

I’ve known Daniel and his family for 14 years now. Daniel will be awarded Boy Scout’s highest rank on Saturday – Eagle Scout. As an Eagle Scout myself, I know how much hard work and dedication goes into that award. It is well deserved and a great young man to be added to our little club. Congratulations Daniel!

SGP Cheerleaders

I recently spent a day with the South Grand Prairie Cheerleaders doing group, individual, and buddy portraits. We had a lot of fun through the day, especially when they realized they could play with some of the things on my prop shelf.

I offer deals for all high school athletic groups, cheerleaders, drill, band, and more.. contact me for group information.

Aubree | Senior Photos

Aubree is one of the stars of her basketball team and a beautiful young lady as well.
