Jacob is a young actor out of Fort Worth. He’s a senior this year and planning to head for Oklahoma for theater. He certainly has the “smoulder” look down.

Jade came in this week to model her new sweater shrug. She’s from South Florida so she thinks we’re already in winter here in North Central Texas… she hasn’t even had her first ice storm yet.

Did you know that I started out in professional photography doing commercial and fashion? I love being able to apply that experience to portraits – bringing out the inner model in everyone. When I manage to capture the person inside – to show the world that person – in a single photograph, that’s when photography is at its best.

KnittingFairy is about to release a new pattern, so it was an opportunity to go back to my commercial photography roots…

I know I spend a lot of time on this blog showing portraits, but I like to remind everyone now and again that I originally got my start doing Photojournalism and Commercial work. This was shot recently for the City of Grand Prairie, featuring the new Dubiski Career High School at sunset.

If you’re interested in having art images of your business or any other commercial photography, please do not hesitate to contact me for rate information. You’d be surprised how little custom commercial photography can cost while adding so very much to your bottom line.
Firefly fans will probably recognize the title.. I was watching episodes on the Science channel when that line in the theme song stuck out at me and this image came into my head. It did decently at our guild competition this month and I’m hoping to meet with one of the judges next week to improve on it some. In the meantime, I wanted to share this version of it…

This band came to me this week needing promotional shots for their German label. The lead singer described them as a “goth version of The Cure” and sent me some old promo shots of The Cure for inspiration and to show what they wanted. I think we had fun with it…

Well, another year of Texas School of Professional Photography has come and gone.. I spent the week wrangling (assisting) for my friend and mentor, Martin Grahame-Dunn. This is an image done in class, but I styled the pose, lighting, and other elements. The models are my son and his fiance’.

The background is from Denny Manufacturing and they are talking about including the image as a sample in their catalog.
Something about this scene just draws me in and makes me feel relaxed…
