Piper is the daughter of my dear friend Lar. A few years ago, she was crowned Miss Texas (Junior Teen) in the National American Miss pageant. This was done a few months after… and after she’d broken her foot stepping off a stair in a school production. As Piper said then, “When they tell you break a leg, don’t take it literally.”
