Gloria, Her Nieces, and Her Wedding | Photography

Once upon a time, a dear friend of mine had 3 daughters. Mike was best man at my own wedding and was a BBQ master, but most of all, he loved his girls. We lost him to cancer a few years ago, but his presence is still all around us. This summer, his old and his youngest daughters had daughters of their own and this week, the middle daughter got married.

The pose with Gloria in her wedding dress holding each of the babies was her idea and it came out very sweet.

I’ve watched all three of these girls grow up… when I met Mike, Gloria was just barely crawling and the youngest, Cheryl, hadn’t been thought of.

I also had the singular honor this week of having all three of those girls list me as Dad on their Facebook pages… does that mean the babies are granddaughters? That’s a scary thought.

More pictures from the wedding are on my Facebook profile.

Katy | Grand Prairie Senior Photography

Katy is another of my senior reps for 2011.. she’s also one of our lead actors at the haunted house (big news coming on that topic next month).

Stand Out Loud – Jessie | Class of 2011 Senior Photography

Jessie is one of my senior reps for the class of 2011 which starts school here Monday.

Its time to start thinking about senior pics for yourself, too.

You’re Gonna Stick That Where?! – I Heart Faces: Surprise

The topic from I Faces this week is Surprise, so I thought I’d “scare” up this shot from the archives. This little girl is two now (and happens to be running around in my studio today, but I digress), but this was from her first shoot with me. I sat shooting pictures while another photographer was making noise and talking to her and blowing at her to try and get smiles and expressions. This one was too precious and was titled “You’re Gonna Stick That Where?!” When the topic this week showed up.. it was the first image that came to mind.

2011 Senior Picture Time

School starts again in a few weeks, so its time for the Class of 2011 to start thinking about senior pictures. With me, you’ll get my entertainment and fashion experience – and at a lower price than you probably would pay with those guys that are dumping junk mail in your box at home. Plus, for the rest of August, I am still looking for Seniors at various local schools that might be interested in free pictures – all you have to do is agree to represent me to your friends and encourage them to come see me for theirs as well. Use my contact form for more details.

Below are some sample pages from my daughter’s album from this year. She’s not a senior yet, but who says you have to be a senior to get good pictures?

Mindy | Dallas/Fort Worth Actor Headshots

Mindy came into the studio this week. Lovely young woman, full of smiles and genuinely lifts a room just by her presence… and just from what I heard while she walked around singing to herself, she has a great voice, too.

New Studio, New Background

When we moved into our new studio last month, I took immediate advantage of the extra space by adding a couple new backgrounds. This is one of my favorites – I’m not just saying that because the image it was created from is one I took. Its large (over 10 feet wide), so it has lots of variations depending on where you stand.

Grabbed a quick shot of my daughter the other day to show it off some…

New Studio Space and a Sale! | Dallas/Fort Worth Senior and Headshot Photographer

My new studio space is now set up and ready for my first clients. This new, bigger space gives me a flexibility of options I’ve never had before. This image is only part of it, there are even more backgrounds available inside as well as a couple great outdoor spots just beyond the door.

To celebrate this new space, I am going to be offering 10% off all sessions and services booked before August 31st to anyone who mentions this sale.

Lets make some art! Stand out loud!

Open House – July 10

We are happy to announce that we have changed locations! And in true Texas fashion, we’re having a BBQ!

The new place is huge.. 2200 square feet, with more than half of it going to support her business (the KnittingFairy Studio). This has still left me with a sizable chunk for photography, though.. and a very usable space at that.

We are doing it right this time and having an Open House to celebrate on July 10. We will have food and drinks and be offering tours from noon to 5.

If you’re on this side of town, please feel free to drop by!

(Note, if you are trying to put the address into a GPS, make sure you tell it STATE highway 360.. otherwise, it may not find us.)

Holden’s First Birthday

I spent last week visiting in-laws in Michigan and most important on that list was my 1 year old nephew. We did not get to meet him last year since travel was out of the question with the events of last year, so we jumped at the opportunity to go this year.

I felt lousy all week.. fighting off an allergy attack that turned into a full blown sinus migraine that is only now fading, but I did manage to do some photography of the kids at the party…

Holden

Sascha (her blue eyes just fascinated me)

Aiden

We spent the week staying with a friend.. and my kids spent the week staying with my wife’s cousin’s family. As a thank you, I also did a few portraits of their son, Luke…
